In 1952, Pieter Plantinga relocated his company to Leeuwarden, expanding its focus on international transport and earthmoving. At that time, the fleet mainly consisted of tractors and tippers from the brands Hogra and Magirus Deutz. The Magirus Deutz S3500 was equipped with an air-cooled engine, which ensured reliable cooling even under heavy loads.

This model was also known as the Rundhauber (round bonnet) and was easily recognizable by its elegant, curved design. Another distinctive feature was the prominent Magirus logo the letter M incorporating the Cathedral of Ulm, where Conrad Dietrich Magirus established the company’s production site in 1864. Its unique engine sound was equally iconic; long before the truck came into view, you could already hear it approaching.

The Magirus Deutz S3500 still owned by PAX Group dates back to 1953.
