Truck Heads to the Wadden Sea

Since yesterday, a striking lady has been gazing out over the Wadden Sea. PAX Integrated Logistics, in collaboration with PAX Construction and Industrial Services, transported the 3-ton sculpture—titled Waiting for High Water—to the dike near Holwerd.

The artwork features two welded metal women, each five meters tall. One curvy, one slim—symbolizing the search for balance and exchange. For now, the curvier woman stands alone, still waiting for her slimmer counterpart to be completed. If all goes well, she’ll arrive this spring.

On the morning of December 6th, the sculpture was loaded at Mannen van Staal in Leeuwarden. A box truck carried her to Holwerd, where—watched by gathered reporters and art lovers—she was placed at her spot on the Wadden Sea dike, shrouded in morning mist.
