The transport was carried out in three phases. First, the storage tanks were moved by road from Woudsend to Spannenburg. In collaboration with Kielstra Kraanverhuur, the tanks were loaded onto a ship and transported to the port of Drachten. From there, they were transferred back onto trailers for the final leg by road to their destination in Heerenveen.
Measuring approximately 26 meters in length and 5.4 meters in diameter, the tanks were too large to be transported via the highway. Several overpasses along the route from Drachten to Heerenveen posed serious obstacles. Still, with careful maneuvering and some impressive driving skills, everything went according to plan—and with minimal traffic disruption.
Under the full coordination of PAX Group, the storage tanks were successfully installed after the weekend.
